a bit about us....

Coalition9 is comprised of MA Fashion Curation students at the internationally recognized London College of Fashion. We are the only specialist Fashion Curation course in the world. Our course directors Amy de la Haye and Judith Clark are world authorities on the subject of presenting dress. Our collective is formed of nine people, all from diverse professional backgrounds including fashion and exhibition design, public relations, gallery administration, teaching, and Oxbridge.

With our production, Eye See Through:Transparency in Dress, we will showcase fashion and theory with a free, public and non-profit exhibition. Our exhibition will push the boundaries of fashion and bring together the areas of design, photography, and film. The theme of the exhibition will focus on transparency in fashion, society and art. We hope to create a distinctive exhibition showcasing the best of British design while offering an insight into the curatorial process.

Jacob Moss

Jacob’s journey towards MA Fashion Curation has been rich and varied. Gaining a BA in Fashion design, Jacob took up a two year position as an assistant designer within a renowned Chelsea atelier. Prior to commencing his studies at LCF, Jacob worked for an events promotion company, responsible for designing multimedia advertising campaigns. Jacob has now come full circle, returning to his first and foremost passion, and hopes to make original and provocative contributions to the discipline of Fashion Curation upon graduating.

Lizzie Glendinning

Having graduated from Goldsmith’s College with a BA in the History of Art, Lizzie also completed a course in Curating Contemporary Art Exhibitions at Chelsea before pursuing her MA in Fashion Curation. Lizzie found the MA course to be a natural progression in terms of her love of art, fashion and display. She has experience in a variety of roles including working within art institutions, PR/events, fashion styling, consultation and exhibitions. Lizzie’s interest in Fashion Curation spans from historical dress and haute couture to contemporary theory and conceptual design which she hopes to implement within her own work.

Sophie van der Heijden

Sophie graduated from the University of Amsterdam, with a BA (Hons) in Museology and History of Art and Architecture. Having worked within The House of Viktor & Rolf, she has experienced an increasing interest in current issues and ideologies that are embraced within the spectrum of the fashion industry. Her particular interest in Fashion Curation is the evolving debate surrounding the possibilities and opportunities of conceptual dress exhibited in an art environment.

Isabella Vignola

Isabella is from Milan, Italy. She graduated in Fashion Design from Politecnico di Milano.

As an intern she has been fashion editor and graphic designer for the fashion magazine IMore.

Her interests in fashion range from environmental sustainability to ethics issues, and innovation in materials and technology.

Helen Richie

Helen Ritchie recently graduated from Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge with a BA (Hons) English. Combining her love of literature with a fascination for historic dress, her curatorial work has a strong narrative quality and succeeds in 'telling a story'. Current projects include fashion photography analysis and assisting in the curation of a future exhibition at Kensington Palace.

Arianna Dal Cero

After completing a degree at the University of Milan specializing in Sociology of Communication, Arianna relocated to London. She graduated with a BA (Hon) in Art and Design from Central Saint Martins, and followed it with a career as a Costume Designer/Stylist for films and commercials. She continues to pursue her artistic path by participating at various exhibitions. Her interest in Fashion Curation is a natural progression dictated by her love for art and fashion alike.

Xing Guo

Xing is from China. She graduated from Communication University of China in MA Design Art Study and has worked in advertising. Xing’s goal for her future is to explore different ways of interpreting and curating fashion garments in the museum context.

Jennifer Rothrock

Jennifer is originally from Seattle, Wa, USA. Her path to a career in Fashion Curation developed from her personal research of and passion for historical clothing. She began her working life as a designer in the US fashion industry, a small business owner and a teacher of apparel design and technology. Jennifer's goal for her future career is to combine the areas of dress, museum work and education for the benefit of the public.
